I appreciate what others have said about the importance of this election, and the call for Conservatives to vote, so that some sense of sanity remains.
Believe me, I have a number of complaints about the ruling party, which in too many issues, has abandoned a truly Conservative agenda, to play footsie with Socialistic programs.
The 'big time media', you know! the people who try to make the news rather than report it, tell us that Conservativism is badly divided, and that some might even sit out the election. That would be a bad move for anyone who takes the name 'citizen'.
We must consider the dangers in electing the Democrat party as the majority.
1. Increased taxation would certainly hit us hard. Remember, they are the 'Tax and Spend' party. Yes, I know, the Republican record is not so good either, but at least in principle there is a difference, and there are some who are ready to shout for a lowering of taxes, and a limit to spending.
2. Any attempt to appoint a 'Supreme Court Justice' to the right of somebody like a
Ted Kennedy, or a Jesse Jackson would meet strong opposition. And you can rest assured that the 'litmus test' to sniff out anyone who opposes the killing of the unborn, would be applied vigorously.
3. The 'illegal immigration' mess would worsen, little if anything would be done to keep our borders closed, and the likelihood of 'blanket amnesty' would be much greater under a Democrat Congress.
4. Ponder the possibility of 'Liberal' Nancy Pelosi as leader of the house. Think of such well known 'Liberals' as Kennedy, Leahy, or even Boxer, heading Committees. Surely that in itself should drive you to vote for any body but a Democrat.
5. As for the 'War against Terror', I dread to think what John Kerry, and company will do.
6. Instead of getting rid of the multilingual ballots, and saving money, there may be more languages added. It makes no sense, since ALL citizens are supposed
to know 'English, to print ballots in any other language.
7. This is the party that openly supports the "Homosexual Lifestyle" as if it was normal. Surely, there must be Democrats who are uneasy about what has happened to their party, but I don't hear them speaking out too much.
I have given just a few things to think about. There are many others. Check them out, go out and vote, and keep the Democrats in the minority in the 'House', and the 'Senate'.
